Being responsive to the needs of the society, a Maternity Home was donated to the Colombo Municipal Council in 1936. A property bearing the name "Sucharitha" was also presented, which served as the headquarters of a former President of Sri Lanka.

Construction of homes for fishermen in Kokilai with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Army.
